Alpha Ten was awarded a sub-contracting opportunity for non-personal technical and engineering support services under Shee Atika Technologies, LLC. The contract is required by Marine Corps Tactical System Support Activity (MCTSSA) for the fulfillment of the development test (DT) support for JTCW ACID software application in a Regimental COC and the JTCW 1.0 interface with Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S). Contracting personnel are required to fill roles as test operators, data journalists, and a program manager. The test will be conducted at MCTSSA in the Systems Integration Facility (SIF) Logistical Combat Element (LCE) node.
Work Details: Alpha Ten provided non-personal technical and engineering support services and deliverable products as required by the Government. Support to the Joint Tactical Computer Workstation (JTCW) 1.0 DT included: - Executing test procedures
- Collecting data
- Providing subject matter expertise on Marine Corps Command Operations Center (COC).
- Improving existing test documentation and creating additional test documentation as required such as:
- Test scripts,
- Procedures,
- Data collection forms
- Trouble Report (TR) forms.
Personnel participated in daily test meetings and other meetings such as start test meetings and daily hot wash. The purpose of the start test meeting is to review the plan of the day. The purpose of the daily hot was to review/capture findings and issues and update TRs where applicable.
Test Operator Support: Provided test operators responsible for executing test steps, and completing test logs, as described in the test procedures. The test logs were compiled of data that was collected during the test execution, handwritten, based on operator observations, and electronically captured, as required by the test procedure. When software anomalies are encountered, the test operators then fill in TRs. The test operator provided additional analysis of reported TR, as required by the test director and then annotated findings in TR. The test operators completed test logs for all test procedures executed for each day of testing which was then turned into the data journalist.
Data Journaling: Alpha ten provided data journalism support and was responsible for ensuring that each test operator correctly captured data and executed test procedures in the proper sequence. Additionally, the data journalists ensure that test logs and generated TRs had been completely filled out. The four test nodes in use during the JTCW 1.0 DT are the Division, Regimental, Battalion and Tactical Air Command Center (TACC). The data journalists made sure that all required corrections to test procedures and test scripts were properly annotated. The data journalists maintained constant communications with the test director and test operators. The data journalists also collected and correlate all data captured in their respective nodes at the end of each testing day and gave it to the Government lead data collector.
Additional comments from PM, Robert Pescatore of Shee Atika Technologies, LLC: “Alpha Ten employees made two unique contributions to this test event. First, one Alpha Ten team member was able to learn a complicated software application (Joint Battlespace Viewer) that the customer had no resident knowledge. This Alpha Ten employee wrote test procedures that worked exceptionally well and was able to teach others the steps involved for the test. Second, another Alpha Ten employee volunteered to be the primary manager for Test Procedure editing, a cumbersome and critical function. She placed much energy into this assignment and became the “go to” person for management of most test documentation. Overall Alpha Ten was a superb addition to the Shee Atiká Technologies JTCW test team.” To learn more how Alpha Ten can support you in your projects and initiatives, send an e-mail to
